What you can do is have the kids talk about animals that are involved with the music (tigers, lions, monkeys, etc), then teach them a few simple movements for the animals based upon the characteristics you talk about. At the end of the class, to make things a bit more fun and a bit more complicated, have them "perform" the movements when they hear them in the music or when you call them out. Are you doing a substitute thing there or what? It is quite impossible to come up with an entire choreo within one lesson, not to mention with year three kids. Getting costumes and all that - how is that supposed to be done within one hour? Play them the music at the beginning, see whether they come up with ideas. Ask them about what the song is about, do they understand the idea? The "circle of life" - you could either try and have them "dance" the lyrics - you could do more abstract things, but for a year three I am afraid that would be asking too much. As it is just ONE lesson, I think you should rather go for them trying to understand that dancing is about expressing yourself and that there are several ways of doing that. Let them be creative instead of trying to teach them a pre-set choreo. :) PS: I am writing this, assuming that "your" year three is the same kind of year three I am thinking about.
